We work to make the Site accessible and comfortable for as many users as possible, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing process rather than a one-off project. Our target standard is the Israeli standard SI 5568 at level AA, which is based on the W3C WCAG guidelines.

The Site currently meets some but not all of the requirements of the standard — that is, partial conformance. We identified the gaps listed below ourselves and are working to close them. This assessment was made by an internal review by our development team, not by an external audit from a certified accessibility expert.

Every image on the Site has alternative text; the Site has full RTL support in Hebrew and is available in five languages; zoom is unrestricted on mobile devices; there is a skip link straight to the main content and a clear focus indicator for keyboard navigation; search is accessible to screen readers and announces the number of results; and if you have asked your operating system to reduce motion, the Site respects that.

No third-party accessibility plug-in or "accessibility widget" is installed on this Site. Accessibility is implemented in the Site's own code, because such overlays do not confer conformance with the standard and sometimes interfere with assistive technology.

The Site is built to work with the accessibility tools already in your browser and operating system, rather than with a separate on-site accessibility bar. The advantage is that a setting you make once applies to every site you visit, not only to this one.

• Enlarging text in the browser: press Ctrl together with the plus key (on a Mac, Command together with plus), and Ctrl together with 0 to return to the original size. On some unusually wide screens this enlargement is limited — see "Parts of the Site that are not yet accessible" below.
• Magnification at operating-system level: Magnifier on Windows, Zoom on macOS (System Settings > Accessibility > Zoom), and the text-size setting on iOS and Android devices. These work even where browser zoom is limited.
• High contrast: if you have turned on a high-contrast mode in your operating system, the Site does not force its own colours onto the keyboard focus indicator or onto search-result highlighting, and uses the colours you chose instead. Please note that in this mode the illustrations in the home-page banner lose their shapes and the stylised site name becomes very pale; category names, text and links remain readable. We are working to improve this.
• Reduced motion: if you have asked your operating system to reduce motion, the Site respects that setting and turns off all continuous animation.
• Screen readers: the Site is built to work with screen readers — there is a link that skips straight to the main content, the page regions are marked up (header, main content and footer), and navigation menus are named.
• Keyboard navigation: every action on the Site can be reached using the keyboard alone, the focused item is clearly indicated, and the Esc key closes dialogs, menus and popovers.
• In the book preview: for EPUB books you can change the font size and choose a light, dark or sepia reading theme.

These are the gaps known to us as at the date this statement was updated. We are working to fix them, and in the meantime we are glad to help by any alternative route if you contact us:

• On very wide screens (over 2880 pixels) zooming the browser to 200% still does not enlarge the text, because even after zooming the window remains wide enough to show the desktop layout. On all other screens zooming works normally. Until this is fixed you can use your operating system's magnification, or narrow the browser window.
• Book previews in PDF format are displayed as page images, so their text is not available to screen readers and cannot be selected or enlarged without losing sharpness. Previews of books in EPUB format are full text and are accessible.
• Audiobook samples do not yet have a written transcript. The listening control itself is accessible and fully keyboard operable.
• The payment step takes place on the secure page of our payment provider, which is not under our control, so its level of accessibility is determined by them.
